MINISTRIES
At Leesburg First Assembly of God every member is a minister, and is encouraged to become involved in a ministry.
Christian Development is vital to the growth and spiritual life of the church. It is only as people grow and become equipped to minister that a church will be "salt" and "light" in the world. Our goal is to provide multiple opportunities for Christians to develop as believers and disciples.
Sunday School is one of the major "teaching arms" of Leesburg First Assembly. We offer a class for every member of the family. The children and youth learning groups are categorized according to age or group; and our adult learning groups are electives available to all adults, providing not only instruction in the Word Of God, but also great opportunities to meet other adults within the church.
OUR MINISTRIES INCLUDE:
MUSIC MINISTRY - The music ministry at Leesburg First Assembly is directed by our Minister of Music. Every Sunday you will hear the Sanctuary Choir and Band as well as selected solos and ensembles. The Choir meets every Thursday evening at 7:00 PM. In addition to singing on Sunday morning, they sing for special services and perform various productions each year. Membership is open year round. Come and join us for a great time of fellowship and praising the name of the Lord.
We also have a dynamic Youth Band and Praise Team which meet on Wednesday evening. Our Children's Church also participates in solos, ensembles and productions.
CHILDREN'S & YOUTH MINISTRIES - On Sunday mornings we offer Kids Church Studio (Produced by Kids, Directed by Christ) - Ages 7 through 12. Jr. Kids Church Studio - Ages 5 & 6. Jr. Kids Church Studio - Ages 3 & 4.
In Kids Church Studio we encourage the children to seek the gifts that God has blessed them with and use those gifts to witness to those that may not have a relationship with Jesus. Children & Adults minister through Prayer, Praise, Worship, characters, object lessons, puppets, and games.
ROYAL RANGERS & M-PACK GIRLS - Boys and Girls meet on Wednesday evenings at 7:00 PM. Ages 3 through Teen. Boys & Girls have classroom and recreational activities that instill confidence and the love of Christ in them.
YOUTH MINISTRIES - Radical Revolution is Leesburg First Assembly's ministry to teens. Middle School (grades 6-8) and High School (grades 9-12) meet separately every Wednesday night at 7:00 PM. In an atmosphere of excitement, worship and encouragement teens are engaged with practical truths from the Bible that they can apply to their every day lives. Then they are challenged to take the Truth to their world. Our teens have accepted the challenge by being involved in mission trips across the globe, from Paraguay, South America to Jaipur, India. They have also participated in several outreaches right here in Leesburg and to the inner cites of Miami, Atlanta and Washington, D.C.
PRAYER GROUPS/MEETINGS - On Wednesday the sanctuary is open for anyone who wishes to come and pray between 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM. Also there is an Intercessory Prayer group which meets on Thursday between 10 AM and 12 noon to pray for both specific needs of individuals as well as for the blessing of God upon our church and its members. Other specific times are called for special prayer times.
NURSERY - At Leesburg First Assembly, we want our nursery to be the best possible environment of love and care it can be. Our nursery is open during each service to provide for babies 6 weeks through 3 years of age. Clean rooms, furnished for different developmental stages of babies, staffed by paid workers as well as concerned volunteers make our nursery a special ministry to the special little ones.
AUDIO MINISTRY - The audio ministry provides tapes and CD's of pastor's and guest's sermons and teachings at a very minimal price. This ministry provides the audio's for shut-in's, friends, and northerners while away from the church. Some special events and musical selections are also provided. USHERS - The Usher Ministry is a vital facet of Leesburg First Assembly. The ushers, both men and women, carry out responsibilities that include greeting, maintaining order, receiving offerings, handing out bulletins and special materials, and cleaning up after services.
WELCOME DESK - Hostesses man the Welcome Desk in the main entrance prior to and after each service, welcoming guest, making various materials and informational packets available, answering questions about the church, and showing the love of God and the friendliness of our church to all who attend.
C.A.R.E. - Christians Actively Reaching Everyone is a food bank service operated out of the Tucker home located on the property next to and just south of the church. Distributions are on Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 10 AM to 12 noon to anyone in need. Food supplies are donated by church members at specified collection times, and other food purchased from the Second Harvest Food Bank. Church volunteers man this entire operation. Some clothing is also available.
JOSEPH'S STOREHOUSE - This is a benevolence ministry providing financial assistance to both church members and others in the community needing help in the areas of housing payments, utilities, and certain other needs being faced on an emergency basis. Funds are given by church members at each service, and supplemented by the Deacon Board as necessary. Food needs are primarily serviced through the C.A.R.E. program.
WOMEN'S MINISTRIES - The Women's Ministries promotes various ministry opportunities: monthly meetings for ministry, special and guest speakers, socials and retreats; provides support financially for some missionaries and projects for the Missionettes; telephone prayer line; and provides meals for the bereaved.
MEN'S MINISTRIES - The Men's Ministries focus on events for fellowship, spiritual growth, recreational activities, and ministry to seniors and shut-in's for the purpose of edifying the body of Christ. They conduct a Breakfast Meeting for all men on the second Saturday of each month at 8 AM.
BEST YEAR'S FELLOWSHIP (BYF) - BYF is a ministry to encourage fellowship and ministry among our senior adults. Fellowship times include: a planned activity at least once a month except for July & August; Day trips; scheduled as well as fellowship events with other churches. Opportunities for ministry include: nursing homes, visitation and communion to shut-in's, C.A.R.E. ministry, Deacons of Visitation, and Opportunity to mentor our youth and children. FRESH FIRE MOTORCYCLE FELLOWSHIP - Own a motorcycle? Love to go riding with other Christians? You'll enjoy the great Christian fellowship with other riders who love the Lord as you take local riding tours around central Florida. Proclaim the Good News of Jesus Christ while enjoying your passion of motorcycle riding. HELPING HANDS - The Men's Ministries is willing to help widows, widowers, single moms, grandmothers, etc., with projects around their homes. All one needs to do is contact the Church office to get the work scheduled. Someone will visit with you to discuss and finalize the project. The person requesting help must pay for any materials needed to complete the work, but the labor will be provided free of charge. Projects may include yard work, fix or repairing ceiling fans, fix broken light sockets and electrical outlets or basically anything else that does not require a contractor's license. Donations may be made to the Men's Ministries Helping Hands fund for work done. LOVING HANDS MINISTRY FOR THE DEAF - There are over 300 million deaf people in the world. If they were all put together, they would form the fourth largest un-reached or un-evangelized people group in the world. Only 2% claim to be Christians. Loving Hands Ministry offers deaf interpretation during the 10:00AM Sunday service in an effort to reach the deaf in our local area. For questions, or to learn more about the Loving Hands Minstry for the deaf, contact Lenore Collins, Linda Kimes, or Beth Fiebke via email at lovinghands@gate.net - Come worship with us!
