WORLD MISSIONS
Leesburg First Assembly of God is a church with an expanding missionary outreach providing monthly support to over 100 missionaries and organizations, on foreign and home mission fields, as well as in our local community. We believe the kingdom of God will increase as we faithfully try to carry out the great commission to be His witnesses to every nation.
Each year our church has a missions convention (a month long missions emphasis) to re-affirm the foundational importance of missions work and supporting of missionaries, both prayerfully and financially. Also, it is a time of getting better acquainted with those we support and their ministry needs. During the year, we frequently have visiting missionaries minister the Word of God from our pulpit and share their vision for the harvest of souls for Christ. It is exciting to be a part of the Assemblies of God World Mission ministry.
Assemblies of God World Missions represents a growing family of more than 4,000 people — 2,035 appointed missionaries, 615 missionary associates and 1,500 missionary children — scattered throughout 212 countries and territories. These dedicated men and women, along with their children, are taking the gospel to cities, urban areas and remote villages, telling a lost world that Christ loves them and came to redeem them from their sins. Together they work with more than 280,000 national pastors in six geographical regions — Africa, Asia Pacific, Eurasia, Europe, Latin America and the Caribbean and Northern Asia.
A word that accurately describes Assemblies of God World Missions today is “unprecedented.” The worldwide Fellowship now numbers more than 52 million members and adherents with over 275,000 churches and preaching points. The doors of opportunity to preach the gospel of Christ also are unprecedented as missionaries and national believers minister to those who have never heard.

CONVOY OF HOPE
During 2006, the Assemblies of God Convoy of Hope provided food and supplies as well as shared the love of Christ with more than 3.7 million poor and suffering people here in the United States and around the world. More than 18 million pounds of food and supplies were distributed valued at more than 20 million dollars.
Since the inception of Convoy of Hope, more than 100 million dollars in food and supplies have been delivered to people in need. Convoy of Hope is active in 26 countries, working with Assemblies of God World Mission to conduct outreaches and respond to disasters. They have also conducted 43 citywide outreaches in the United States where thousands received help and were assimilated into Churches through thier aftercare program. They continue to work on behalf of the General Council in the Gulf Coast, repairing and renovating more than 2000 homes devastated by hurricanes Rita and Katrina. In addition, with the help of thousands of volunteers, 58 Churches were rebuilt and renovated.
In 2006, thousands of men, women and children also committed their lives to Jesus Christ. On behalf of the millions who received tangible and spiritual hope, thank you for supporting Convoy of Hope!
